My wife volunteers at a shelter and works with cats. Recently an "in transit" cat was supposed to stay at our house for an afternoon.
I come home from work and see a "post it" note on the closed laundry room door. "Lucy is in here - please keep this door closed."
Remembering that we were supposed to have a cat for the day, I open the door to see how the kitty is doing. Hmmm - no cat in sight.
So I head to my wife's office, thinking she was playing with the kitty. "Lorene - there's no kitty in the laundry room - do you have her?
Answer is "no" - panic ensues. Back to the laundry room. There are a couple slots cut out of the drywall that facilitated running some speaker wire to the Polk outdoor speakers I installed last summer.
Wife (panicking) "My GAWD - she's climbed into the walls - she's going to SUFFOCATE!!!!
Me (also panicking) Run to garage and grab claw tooth hammer. Return to laundry room and start tearing chunks of drywall out.
No kitty - no where - no how.
"This can't be happenin' man!" (Hudson - Aliens)
There's a cabinet in the room with some dead space next to it and a panel in front. Did she climb under the panel and into the "dead space?"
Relief - she must be there but we can't see her. Back to garage - return to laundry room with hole saw. Drill large peep hole into cabinet. Peer inside - NO CAT :eek:
Wife - (panicking) "GAWD she must have climbed up into the walls where we can't see her- she's gonna suffocate - we gotta find her.:eek:
Me (also panicking) grab aformentioned claw tooth hammer and proceed to rip the walls out of the laundry room.
NO FRICKIN' CAT
Grab pry bar, rip out panel in front of aformentioned dead space. Peer under adjacent cabinet.
Cat found! :)
Oh well - that room needed re-modeling anyway.

reminds me of when we moved from our old house, we got everything moved to our new house except the damn cat - it got into the attic crawl space and wouldn't come out. I set a have-a-heart live trap (baited with meow mix) by the crawl space entrance. took 9 days but finally caught herpanasonic th-50pz85u

Cats just don't like any changes, especially changing house. I am in the process of painting and installing a new floor in the bedroom. The damn cat pissed in the room last night.....little ****!
