Picked up an Anthem Pre2L

Happened to find an Anthem Pre2L using craiglook at the beginning of the week. It came with all the original parts, glove, screwdriver, manual and tubes. No upgraded tubes. Got it for $395 shipped. It arrived today and is in excellent condition and is already playing some tunes in the 2-channel rig. Also swapped out the 14 gauge Monster speaker cable for the MIT Terminator 2's I got when I bought the SRT's a couple of weeks ago. Can't wait to get my Denon back from the repair shop and take the system for a test drive.....:D

    You are BRAVE....never heard of anyone buying from craigslist and having it shipped.....

    Taht's a great pre for the money.

    Agreed, can be a bit scary. We exchanged ebay feedback ID's with email match.... 125 positive feedback at 100% positive gave the confidence necessary to pull the trigger.

    Awesome, nice piece at a great price. Check the tubes. You may be able to improve them for around $40 with some phillips 6922 and some tube dampers from Herbie.

    told me he sells some great dampers. I have Herbies but would have gone to Brent if I knew prior to my purchase of the dampers I have for my PRE2L.

    That's an awesome deal on an awesome pre. I own an Anthem Pre 1L and absolutely love it! +1 on the Jan Phillips 6922s. I rolled a quad of the matched and balanced 6922 USA made Phillips tubes and it made a huge difference. The midrange really came alive, the highs became much smoother and airy, and bass is tighter and detailed. I wish I would have found a set for $40 however, my matched and balanced quad ran me $120. It sounds like I should have shopped around a little more. +1 on the Herbies Tube Dampers also. To me there's not a better made damper on the market. Enjoy the Anthem! It's one sweet sounding unit.

    Soon hopefully. One part is backordered. They're replacing the transport and the belt. It's been over 2 weeks now....:mad:
