Ight, as most of you know I found a digital Coax cable.

I just put in Star Wars EP II.
The part where the plane is landing in the beginning........WHOAH! First time for everything eh? Before it was really light sounding...kinda dull really...now with the COAX......HOLY KASHEATS! My room was shaking, I was actually feeling it, it hit lower, it played way louder. it was just better!
The surrounds, WOW! The surrounds really work now...lol, before Im not sure they were working...junk is everywhere! Thanx Doc, and all dem that helped me out. Truly sounds better now!

you "found" a dig coax cable?
what? were you so broke you were taking handouts via paypal?
lol, JK, glad you got your system up and running. Just put $40 bux in for a SignalCable coax last week. Now I have a spare AR cable laying around here somewhere...Damn....8 lines...I've gotta put my sig on a diet now.... -
Yep, I 'found' it. My dad gave me this really huge and thick orange cable to hook my computer up to my stereo with. I didnt need it, since my soundcard sucks. Rs and I were talking on aim about hooking up computer to our stereos, and that cable came into mind. Then I remembered seeing it on ratshack.com and it was a digital coax cable. So yeah in a sense, I found it. Didnt cost me anything. Dad gave it to me. Works for me!- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit.

Makes you wonder how many people out their are listening to pro logic for their dvd player's "round sound."
-
WTG, Sid. Geez, with all these "improvements" in sound - if your system was awesome before with no calibration, filter cascading at the sub, and no digital coax, hell - it's gotta be a top running candidate for world's best by now.
j/k - good on ya - always remember, better sound is just around the corner IF you keep an open mind and get your learn on.

Get over it will ya? Im 14, good sound to me, is bad to you, or in some ways could be the opposite. Get use to the fact that laying down 20+, el...30+ on ONE cable is very painful. I work my ****$ off my 8 hours+ to just get 30 bucks.- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit.

Sid,
actually I can appreciate that perspective, especially for a 14 years old, considering most of your peers would still be saving money for a CD or two. Gotta have your learning cap on at all times, and you will be ahead then your peers. Also, got to find a cure to your insomnia!I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie. -
Polkatese, the only cure for my insomnia is music, at ear bleeding levels. I go to sleep within 5 minutes - but if you turn it down I wake up. I dunno, anyways. I like to buy stuff that I can see, and sorda say hey, I paid for that, its visible, it does something. I wouldnt like to say hey...my stereo patch cables cost as much as my surrounds, dont i look stupid?- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit.

I kinda understand that, I can invite my friends over and say, Dude my system sound good? i have 500 bucks in cables right there in the back, ah i know you can't see them, but they are there.. sounds better huh!! Freinds say, Yeah Cliff great.. so where was that case of beer at? the kitchen or the florida room fridge??MY HT RIG:

Say for a 14 year old, what the hell do you do anyway SiD? Don't they have child labor laws in your state or something. Unless you're from Texas....cause "it's a whole other country there...."Damn....8 lines...I've gotta put my sig on a diet now....

Sid,
You're come a long way guy.. and as you said.. thanks to the people in here.. they have steered you into a whole new territority.. with just a coax cable. it helped open up more from your system.. a system i know you have worked hard to get.

It is fun to give you grief once in a while tho.

Good on ya, Sid...
As I've told you before, you have a system 14+ year-olds would die for. And even better, you've earned your way to it, so you appreciate what you've got...More later,

Yep, that was me at first. I thought it was DD based on the logo that goes with it, but I was wrong. However, it sounded awesome, and I was very happy for those few foolish weeks. I have it all straightened out now, and I am even happier. But yeah, Pro Logic can be deceiving to morons like myself. -
I remember when I was in high school .... the prices of audio gear came down to how many hours I had to work to pay for it! When you put things in that perspective, it can add some real clarity to the question of whether you *really* want something.
Thirty bucks for 10+ hours work? Not quite prison wages.... -

Just a funny observation.....but don't you get upset when people give you crap for being 14 and not willing to listen to people, then you turn around and use your age to tell them to stop bothering you about stuff?
Is it just me or are both sides using the same point?comment comment comment comment. bitchy. -
your looking at it wrong, i dont mind taking suggestions. But what some of you mofos tend to look past is the fact is I can not lay down 20-30+ bucks on one cable. It takes me 2-3 months to gather money for 1 amp. To my dad...thats not even a day's work. When you were 14, you were probally smoking pot and trying to get out of bed so u could go to skool, me I do something. Leave me the hell alone. One last post on this amazingly well performed victimization of Sid.......
People aren't cracking on your wire. They're cracking on your resistance to the *IDEA* that better cable = better sound. Money issue aside, you put as much of a stink up about the *idea* of getting better cable as Jstas put up about getting Valentine Flowers for his girl. We all know how that turned out....
While I do understand the money standpoint, it *is* kind of funny that you gripe about spending money on better cable when amps magically pop up every other month or so when you get a weed up your a$$ to get something.......comment comment comment comment. bitchy. -
hmmm, maybe ur not exactly up to date brett. I plan on buying a whole new set of wire this year. That is, if I work all this summer. Right now, I need another amp, a center, and i need to upgrade my computer. If I get all that done, and I have money left over...ill buy better speaker wire...interconnects...etc...get over it. Its over, this was deciding in the wire section of this forum. I understand u think i want to have ratshack interconnects and HD wire my whole life, but i hate to break it to ya...ur wrong. I plan to get IXOS speaker wire, and interconnects. The only reason I dont see the point in spending mega $$$$ on cables are the fact I cant see em, no one gives a crap about cables, and I would look totally stupid if I spent more money on cables than my entire stereo. You need to get over yourself and realize my system sounds great to me, you guys here have never steered me wrong and I plan to upgrade my cables someday. When that day arrives...who knows? Who cares, I mean dang.
The amp thing, I have a list - I mark the list off one by one, and the amps are first, then center, then upgrade computer, then wire. After that...Sell subwoofer, buy SVS. This is my list. My Objective: Buy it all before 2004. Why? Because 2004 to 2005. I have to save to fix up my Dad's truck. OK?
Now stop bickering...- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -
ok, ok. lets lay off Sid for a while.. but dude some times you bring it on yourself too. you are always asking for suggestions on this and that.. well then people offer you their knowledge and suggestions.. in hopes that it will help your system sound better. Those suggestions that you agreed to and purchased.. have made your system sound better, right? Yes they have.
Anyway Sid you are way younger than the rest of us here.. with the exception of Airplay355 who is closer to your age then me and others in here.
I understand that money doesn't go that far anymore... and when you're bringing in a limited amount.. you have to prioritze as best you can. You're learning a good lesson.. because in the real world.. it's like that too. We'd all like to upgrade something in our systems.. (maybe not Mantis, LOL). but at least for me.. cash flow keeps me from buying anything right now too.
it's groooovvy, yeah?
Al
P.S. brettw22, i checked out your system in the showcase.. nice dude.. really sweet set up. I didn't know you had a PSW1200. very rockin'. Do your neighbors ever complain when you crank it up to watch something?PolkFest 2012, who's going>?

no comment on Sid.....
As far as I know, my neighbors don't complain. Well, my immediate neighbors don't. I do have one neighbor lady that gripes from time to time, but for the most part, I say EFF her and the volume goes up.comment comment comment comment. bitchy.
