Stereo rack that is. I'm finally getting the room and the system how I want it. Here are a couple pics:
I've done some poor man room treatments that are surprisingly effective. In the rack you can see my newest acquisition (purists may now leave the room) an ADC Sound Shaper 3 parametric equalizer. I just got this and am hoping it will help tame some still evident room problems. This spring I will be constructing proper room treatments but until then....I love the retro look of the rack system. Just thought I'd share.

Ever heard of a Harmony?!
Joking aside, looks real nice!"Dr Dunn admitted that his research could also be interpreted as evidence that women are shallower than men. He said: "Let's face it - there's evidence to support it."Best Buy is for people who don't know any better. Magnolia is for people who don't know any better and have more money to spend.

Nice Kelvin! yeah, what happened to Harmony the ONE?I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

Very nice, Fong.
Having multiple remotes insures nobody else but me plays with the HT.
BTW, nice rack.My equipment sig felt inadequate and deleted itself. -
It doesn't look lie a parametric eq...more like a graphic eq.

It's actually kind of a hybrid if you will. There are switches below the main graphic sliders that can change the center frequency to one octave up or one octave down on the center frequencies of each individual band. So not a true parametric but far beyond a regular graphic eq.SDA-1C (full mods)

A tiny bit so I'm trying to find a way to dampen it somewhat. I'm now getting a little more rumble from the turntable then I did before this rack. If I can't solve it the rack will go for a different quieter one. I love the glass and wood look though. I'm thinking thin silicon inserts where the glass meets the wood. Or some other polymer perhaps. I can replace the top glass piece for slab of granite or something less resonating than the glass. Any ideas?SDA-1C (full mods)

+1 on that
Looks very nice and I also have a harmony but right now its sitting in the box cause it Pi@#ed me off and I quit using it. Maybe its time to try the harmony one? Can't wait to see the final after you redo the treatments.

Very nice setup Kelvin!
Two things; 1. do you find the SDA effect diminished by the sides being so close to the other components?
2. With the turntable setting on glass, I would consider a block of Maple maybe from Mapleshade records
http://shop.mapleshadestore.com/products.asp?dept=49.
Are those Black Diamond Racing Cones under the turntable? If so, I've had great success using them set on Isol-Pads from Quest for Sound
http://www.questforsound.com/accessories/acc_sqIsolPads.htm.
I've placed them under my BDRC and they really keep the rumble and airborne vibrations out of the mix. I would suggest them even if you are not using BDRC as they really do the job. If you call Stephen at Quest for Sound, tell him you know me and are a member of the Polk Forums, he'll give you a great discount. Ignore the $50 price tag on his website, it is more like $25 for a set of four.
I use the Isol-Pads under all my components. -
Purist or not, that EQ is a very cool looking piece of gear.I don't read the newsssspaperssss because dey aaaallllllllll...... have ugly print.

What type of rack is that? I may have to purchase one as that's exactly the look that I've been looking for...

Thanks for the great suggestions Joe. They are not Black Diamond Racing Cones under the TT but are in fact the factory cones that come with the unit. Under them now I have floor protector disks and just some little squares of hard rubber like used for door mats. I think the Isol pads and a block of maple are excellent suggestions.
As for the SDA effect, I thought at first it might be a little diminished due to the closenes of other stuff but then last night I was playing Santana's Abraxas and then Satriani's Flying In A Blue Dream and the wide deep soundstage was there in it's full glory. Abraxas has to be the best LP for showing off the SDA effect of the 1C's
The rack itself I lucked out on dbaldus. I found it at a local liquidation store and it was the display model. All others were sold out so no box and no idea who made it. I had looked for two days all over my region and not found the look and function I was after and then I found this one. Best part.....$50.00 out the door.SDA-1C (full mods)

The poor man's room treatments is a good idea. To make them look better you could get some fabric from a craft store and wrap them in it. The hardwood floor and the ceiling may be a major reflection surface. Have you placed any of the foam stuff on there?
