Best Speaker Cable???
Hi all,
I will be running RTi8's and CSi5 with old Monitor surrounds (for now) through an Onkyo TX-SR805.
What is the best speaker cable to use?

JZ,
I use Monster's Navajo White cable that I believe can be run in-wall; we chose it for originally concealing the wire by the carpeting and around baseboards in my last condo, but that's no longer a problem in this new house because everything will be pretty much hidden...
I had no problems with Monster's affordable speaker wires and interconnects; I don't think any of these products are worth the 100s of dollars they ask for some of them in their "premium" lineup -- just stick with some affordable Monster stuff, or something from Blue Jean, and you'll be fine. -

Boy, that's a loaded question. I predict this thread will grow to epic proportions just like every other cable/IC/etc. thread has done.TNRabbit

You didn't as a bad question, but one that is typical of sparking a long, long post. Much can be learned, but beware some people take this stuff WAY too seriously.
I have a Polk LSI surround setup and right now I am using monster XP speaker cable. I got the stuff at cost from a Futureshop (Best Buy to you Yanksand I am not overly impressed for a variety of reasons. There is some really expensive speaker cable out there, but you must always consider the laws of diminishing returns.
That being said, listen to some opinions from guys who have been listening to audio equipment longer than I have been alive. Wisdom is a wonderful thing.... especially when you can get some young, eh??

The top two will give you an idea of how much speaker cables can run, and those are not even the most expensive.
The 3rd choice is a good place to start if you want something from a company like them. I love my signal cable and they are very good. If you are not wanting to still pay that much go with the monoprice cable or pick up some of the stuff by bluejeans. -
Be right back. I need to grab some popcorn and a cold beer.;)
Seriously though... I have found the Canare wires from Monoprice to be more than adequate for my current setup and budget. Is there better out there? Yes, absolutely. Could you do far worse? Again the answer is yes, absolutely. The most important thing about this hobby is to trust your ears and your gut.The Gear...
