Sansui rules!

My brand new used Sansui G-9000 arrived yesterday. This thing is MASSIVE! I've owned a few '70's receivers before, including one new one I had when I was a teenager, but none were anything quite like this. Huge, and heavy too.
I always figured FM radio in San Antonio was just garbage. I have 3 vehicles, and they only pick up 3 or 2 stations on a good day. I bought one of those new digital-ready tuners and hooked it up to a decent amplified antenna, same thing. Maybe 4 stations.
I hooked this Sansui up to a simple wire antenna (can't find the amplified one), and this thing picks up probably 20 stations! Wow! I never knew there were that many stations around here! Unreal!
Anyway, I hooked it up to a set of Infinity Primus P162 speakers I had sitting around, and decided I'm going to throw those in the garbage. Everything I hook them up to sounds like crap. Hooked it up to a set of Polk Monitor 70's, and away she went! This thing rocks!
I took a set of pictures for you guys to drool over. As you can see from the first shot, I had to turn it down to get the other shots.
Check it out!

Beautiful unit man! I just got a G-9700 myself a week or so ago. Those old Sansui's are something else; I love the G series. Enjoy, try not to irritate the neighbors too much- Jeremy
