Hello,

I recently posted about purchasing some RTi8's and a CSi5. I have just pulled the trigger on that, and am now thinking I should upgrade my receiver to get the most out of what I paid for.

I'm a college student, and my question is, I have read alot about using an amplifier to get the most of your speakers. However, to do this you would need a receiver with a pre-out right?

The only receivers I can seem to find with pre-out's are high-end receivers by the typical brands: Yamaha, Denon, Pioneer, Sony, and Marantz.

However, I have noticed that Harman Kardon 254/354 receivers have pre-outs. While I dont plan on purchasing an amplifier right away, I think this would be a good thing to have but have read that the 254/354 have alot of problems.

On the other hand, I could purchase a Pioneer VSX 1019 for $400, or a Yamaha RX-V665 in the similar price range. However, these receivers do not have pre-outs from what I have read.

What should I do?
