yeah I know...watching burned movies from my external hdrive via PS3. Gotta save some dinero with this economy. Let's get to the point, I am unable to feel the BASS while playing my movies. Do I need to adjust the SUBWoofer on my AVR everytime I play the ripped movies? Please advice.

Unless the 'source' of these movies is consistent, you could have pretty variable audio track quality. Press 'select' on your controller to get an overlay screen that tells you what you're listening to. Could be nothing more than a low quality 2.0 track for instance with no LFE output. So yeah, you're probably going to have to adjust the sound for every movie from another 'source' unless you can control the audio quality of the ripped movie consistently.

Most movies like that are in 2 ch like cheddar said. Not much you can do with that.

Thanks Thanks Thanks. For this particular ripped is the cloned Transformers2, the surrounds work but SUB deprived. Gotta play more with my settings.

That's an odd title given the content of this thread, sorry I don't have anything further to add.
