I love my Herbie's mat for what it does for the sound, but it did not help my static electricity build up problem. I still have to use Zerostat gun and carbon fiber brush to get rid of static before each play. And then when I take the record off to flip over or put away zap zap zap through the speakers again. Does anyone know of a permanenet solution to this? Oh man, and now I'm guilty of a thread derail too. Sorry Ben, but congrats on your purchase. I think you will be pleased. With the mat and a clamp all things vinyl sound sweeeeeeeet!! Enjoy.

You'll be very pleased. Check you neked platter for holes recessed grooves or indentations. You may need to put some light cardboard, paper etc. to provide a smooth and level surface for the underside of the mat. Otherwise, you may get platter pot holes:eek:
