Does anyone have any experience with the B&K ST-202. I am thinking about trading my Carver m500t for one. I recently upgraded can't use the Carver anymore, not SDA friendly :( . Any thoughts, comments or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

If you like the look and sound of Carver how about going to the TFM line. A TFM 25 or 35 are right in line power wise with the M500t. The TFM 25 is 225wpc and the 35 is 250.

I have thought about going that route but those amps are outrageous on ebay and the local market has nothing good to offer.

    Stephen:

    I have a Carver TFM-35 available that I am not using. Seems like endless power at 250 watts/channel @8 ohms and (I think) 400 watts/channel @ 4 ohms.

    Thuffman:

Is the Carver 500 series non-common ground where the TFM series is common ground making it suitable for SDA service?

Yes the Carver 500 series is non-common ground. TFM is common ground as is most other amplifiers. How much do you want for the 35?

There are lots of others here who are very happy and love their Carver TFM series amps paired with their SDA's. Great combination, plus they look great with those analog meters:)

I have the ST-202 that is powering my Haydn's, and feel it gives it plenty of power and pleased with the sound. I haven't heard any Carver amps, or SDA's so I wouldn't be able to give you any more information than that.
    Setup:

    2 Channel: Vienna Acoustics Mozart Grand, T+A P 1230R, Primare SPA21, Oppo BDP-105
PC: Vienna Acoustics Haydn Grand, Cambridge Azure 650A v2 , Peachtree iDAC, Denon DVD-3800BDCI

I have a B&K St-1400 series II and we listened to Al's SDA-2B's (I think) the Seattle GTG and I thought it sounded pretty good, but I like the sound of the B&K "warmth".

More experienced ears than mine can chime in though. The ST-1400 is only 125w@8/ 150w@4, so it was not as powerful as the ST-202 (150w@8/200w@4)
"I Think" Al (bikerboy has a 202) try asking him??

We didn't try a Carver amp, so I can't comment on a comparison. And of course it didn't have near the juice as the Juggernaut Amp that Jake had, from Grant Fidelity, I think, but that is in a whole nother $$ category.
