Need help! One LSi9 gave out...

I hired a lady to clean our house and we were probably gone for about 2 hours, when we returned the stupid lady said, "Oh, one of your speakers gave out". Crazy lady had it turned up full blast, beyond a level than I have ever exceeded myself. Is there a fail safe mode or something? Is my speaker trash now? My set up is still the same as below.
AVR: Sony STR-DG1000
Mains: LSi9's
Center: LSiC
Rear Surrounds: LC60i's
Sub: PSW505
Amp: Outlaw 7125
TV: Samsung 46" LN46A650

    First, get a new maid. Second, switch the speakers. Does the issue follow?

    Need a little more info. Is there sound coming from either speaker or tweeter. If not try bypassing the crossover and see if the speakers make any noise.

    Next time clean your own mess.:)

    Before writing this thread, I had unplugged the amp and receiver, hoping this would fix it. I turned everything off for about 45 minutes. I turned it on now and everything works fine. The right speaker is working again. Don't know if it just overheated or what? I'm really not an expert at this stuff, I made this setup happen with the help of this very same Polk fourm. Everything has been working perfect since 2007. If not for this forum, I would not have a clue about surround sound, speakers, amps, etc.

    Do you guys have clue as to what happened? How did the speaker magically come back to life?

    Your amp may have had an overload/thermal protection that automatically reset itself after it cooled down.

    Tell your maid to keep her freakin hands off your stereo unless she is willing to give you the money it would take to replace it!
