RCA to XLR?

Anyone have to resort to connecting RCA to XLR because of running out of inputs on their preamp or integrated amp?
I'm considering an 'upgrade' and am looking at some options for an integrated amp, but the Krell I'm looking at only has 3 unbalanced RCA inputs and 1 balanced/XLR input, and I want to connect 4 sources - so one would have to use an adapter from RCA to XLR.
Is this a no-no no-go taboo?

You can do it (Cardas is the first place that comes to mind that sells the adapters), but obviously the connection won't be truly balanced. Obviously everything affects the sound, so adding an adapter could change the qualities of the sound you're used to hearing, but the only way you can know is if you try it./COLOR] My Rigs [COLOR="Red" Balanced Audio Technology | Revel | Dodd | Monarchy | PS Audio | MIT | Polk | Etc.

I make custom RCA to XLR, and XLR to RCA cables.
BenPlease. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
Thanks

Thanks, Ben. I'll keep that in mind - still need to decide if I'm going to do the upgrade and which int amp to pick - some of my choices have 4 unbalanced inputs....the Krell's are the only int so far on my short list that is stingy with the number of RCA inputs.

I would check guitar center. It's worth a shot. -

www.partsexpress.com should have 'em.

IIRC, AudioQuest sells some like that.

I've done the conversion many times with my Emerald Physics system. RCA to XLR is "A" ok.

Thanks, guys - good to know.
This will help when I decide which integrated to go with.

Why not just get a balanced source? That would solve your problem.
