Picked up Chris' Nightsession SACD. Great recording, very soothing contemporary jazz recording (Multi-Channel 5.1 very nicely done, channel separation is very distinct) He was with Sting previously (9/11/01 DVD Live in Italy) and now embarking on his solo career. He has Dave Koz's jazz flavor, modern and melancholy, great for rainy day....

two thumbs up! right next to Peter Cincotti on my list!
I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

Damn. I was listening to this SACD, and yeah, it's so good, both SQ (multichannel 5.1 with a clear emphasis of the instruments around the sweet spot) and artistry.

Now that this album is OOP, the used one goes for around $200.

Btw, where is Frank Z? haven't seen him for a long while around here.

What does "OOP" mean in regards to this album? Why the heck is it so expensive?

    Joe, OOP=Out Of Production

It's one of the best of early SACD Multichannel implementation.

OOP can also mean "Out of Print".

Why is it so expensive? SACD, and DVD-A as well, are usually pressed in much smaller numbers than their CD counterparts. Generally, once a pressing is done, it's done. With a limited number of copies available, and the superior sound quality of a SACD, OOP versions (in this case, the SACD) appreciate in value. Many SACD titles currently are appreciating in value....Alison Krauss, SRV, Steely Dan, Santana, Rolling Stones and non-mainstream titles from Frankie Goes To Hollywood, Kraftwerk, etc.
