I was looking on EBay and saw a pair of refurbished speakers by Polk (Polk Direct). Has anyone purchased from Polk Direct before and how is the quality? Thanks

There are quite a lot of threads with same topic, but to just give heads up
you almost get a new pair with all accessories if any, sometimes just with a sticker on the box which says refurb other wise yo will never find any thing wrong, and just a bit less on the warranty part which will be 2 years for the speakers instead of 5.

I bought a pair of speakers from them a couple of weeks ago. The speakers are flawless, sound great and still come with a 2 year warranty. Also didn't hurt that I paid a third of the price:D Like some of the other guys said they are not all refurbs. They also had great service, received them in less than a week. After such a great experience I decided to get a pair of rears off there just last night:D So I wouldn't hesitate buying from them at all.
    I love animals, they're delicious!

    Thank about it this way:

Every time Polk direct sells a product, new or refurb, it is directly putting its reputation on the line. Polk is being honest in describing something that has been worked on in one way shape or form as listing it as refurbished.

My company makes a product and we refurbish an occasional return. Be it a simple return (came back within the money back warranty period) or a defective one. We then eventually resell the returns as refurbished.

IMHO refurbished equipment is better than something from a new run, as EACH item gets looked over very carefully. Factory runs that result in an item ready for a new purchase rely upon standardized tests and random samples pulled from the run that get detailed review to maintain QA/QC.

To wit, I'd buy a refurb from Polk any day. The company's reputation precedes it.

Just bought a pair of VM30's, VM20's and Pro600 Sub for 1/3rd the price! Packaging was like new. Everything I bought was like new quality, wrapped, accessories and docs. Absolutely perfect. Even calling customer support and getting warranty on the sub remote was 100% painless and simple!

I bought the VM20's (they only sold them in pairs) to use one as my Center speaker and sold the other on CraigsList which paid for both! Can't beat free!

    1000% recommend.

Not only have I purchased from them, I had a problem with a speaker Rti A3, 2 years later. Since they are located CLOSE to me, I took the speaker along with proof of purchase to their facility. They repaired it in 30 minutes. I give them high marks in customer service and product quality. No problems since, which was 2 years ago.

Got my RTiA5's from PolkDirect and cheap. I blew the tweeters about a month later and they sent me two brand new ones no questions asked. Best customer service ever . . . refurb might as well mean new.
