    He's supposed to be shipping my Candela today. Do you like yours?? What tubes are you running it it?

    Have trouble with your amps or are these new?? Kismet, 'eh - nice!!

    He's also rebuilding a Stratos into an Extreme for me - not quite sure when that will be ready.

    Gotta think of working with Klaus as an entertaining journey. He is a hoot to talk to but things don't just come flying out of his shop! :rolleyes:

    Right now I am running the RCA Blackplates I believe -- and they are the best Ive heard - super accurate and controlled.

    The Candela is an interesting story for me - I have like THE first production run of that unit..

    And please note Klaus does not even touch the Candela, it is not even his design. Alex G of Odyssey designed and builds the Candela. He also services them...

    But when I first received my Candela the left and right outputs were swapped... funny I know - there was ALOT of noise in the unit and the HT bypass did not work properly... lol

    Now I sent it back to get all the updates that had happened since its release about 8 months ago and it is 90% quieter, I have not tested the HT bypass feature and my right/left are not right and left lol...

    But with Alex doing the repairs I was only doing a week or two... lol

    Incredible unit though through and through. The reason why all those problems I listed above did not bother me was because of how good the unit sounded... lol

    Ya, know - that Alex info makes sense now. Klaus pretty much handed me off to Alex as soon as I started talking about the tubes and such - and Alex was very responsive via Email. Just wasn't something I was used to - an email from an employee of Odyssey!! ;) (Not bashing you Herr Bunge - we all love ya! :))

    I've got the H/T bypass in mine so I'll let you know how that goes.

    Meaning a Club Polk pool as to when Klaus will actually deliver. The RAS could do the same for your Candela :p.

    As you know full well, Klaus is great, hands on, willing to talk, etc, etc, not real good at keeping deadlines :D

    Really...I hadn't noticed. So, to keep up with the standard here. Klaus said shipped on the 27th of Feb - not. :mad: Now he's supposed to ship today.:D

    I'll keep everyone up to date on the delivery.

    Candela arrived yesterday! Swapped out the JJ's and put in a pair of late 1950's CBS/Hytron 12AU7's with Herbies dampers on them.

    Completely smokes my prior pre (was an entry level Granite Audio).

    Wow....darn....gosh...!!

    Glad to hear. It's a nice looking unit and last night when I heard it, I figured it wouldn;t take you long to abandon those JJ's. :)
