Hafler amps

Hi, I use a Hafler DH110 preamp and a Hafler DH220 power amp. I'd like to know where everyone would put these in the pecking order of good audio equipment?

    Sound quality-wise, I'd put them way up near the top. (I really like mos-fet amps.) In terms of build quality, maybe down a few notches from the better affordable gear.

    BTW, I owned the 110 pre, the tuner and the 500 amp back in the early 80's. The amp was a beast, but I had issues with the power switch.

    Looks like a really good system!

    I had to replace the 220's power switch too. Any thoughts on replacing the caps, and or the modification I've been hearing about.

    If they're original, they're probably due. But as for what to replace them with, I really wouldn't have a clue what would be the best. Is there anybody out there specializing in Hafler mods and/or maintenence? As many Hafler amps are being used, I'm sure there's got to be.

    I have two DH-200s running subs. They are pushing 30 years. I had to have the bias circuit repaired on one. I bought PS caps off e-bay for $50 a set. They are 18,000pf each instead of 10,000. I can't remember his ID, but just do a 'hafler' search and they should show up.

    I have the complete IRIS system-Pre, CD Player, Tuner. 20 years with no problems. LH

    I don't know where I'd put them and have never owned them...but had friends who did. Those were very warm sweet sounding pieces....I would buy them 'used' even today in an eyeblink!

    Just an update, I replaced all of the caps awhile ago and it sounds great! Even replaced all of the caps in the 110 pre amp.
