New xbox360 question

Hello

Am finally upgrading my old 360, still have the original release console. Just had a question about transferring the data off of the hard drive onto the new drive.

I do have the transfer cable and disc as I've done this before when I upgraded the original hard drive. That went fine.....

Do I just go through the same procedure again with the drive that will be on the new 360? The reason I'm asking is to make sure there aren't any conflicts being as the data will be on a different console..

Okay, well a memory card is not an option. I have almost 100 gigs of data on that drive, mostly installed games, and alot of DLC which I don't want to lose. You know how Microsoft is on this stuff.....

Has anybody done this? I'm still getting conflicting reports about what exactly is still functional on the new console, meaning games and dlc.

Well I just wound up transferring my profile onto the memory card and thats it. I forgot that you could only use the transfer kit once. I'll just have to redownload the DLC which isn't any big deal...
