    Yep, I'm not real big into the whole surround thing. The 500's do pretty well in a 2 channel system for me. I'm thinking about picking up another amp someday and see how they sound biamped.

    I'm also thinking about moving up to RTi A9's sometime. I'll bet they rock.

    What amp are you going to drive your 500's with?

    Not sure yet, still saving up some cash. Probably the usual suspects, Adcom, Rotel, Emotiva, etc. Gonna sniff around on CL and Epray for some deals when the time comes.

    I have several (4) Pioneer 9080's all set up for bi-amping 2 sets of very large vintage Sansuui 3500 5 way woodies...
    See pic;
    these are the richest sounding and using only about 10 % gives full range ...deep studio feeling....( only with vinyl recordings can you hear unlike
    anything else...or at any cost.
    If you have excellent hearing ....and the room is acoustically managed well,
    there are few "NEW" equipment sellers who will match the sound quality of this set up.

    This was used for dynamic function only ...not very pretty..certainly not for your living room...not even for your "man cave"

    If the picture I sent does'nt show up on this reply, send me an e-mail at rjbert@optonline.net. ( ref. to studio bi-amp ).
    I can forward a jpg of this set up in a small hall used strictly for testing .
    The systems then go on to an end user ( in one case a garage band that successfully demo'd for Olmstead Studios NYC and won a contract.
    Their total investment including my time was under $2k. That included use of a 16 track analogue taping system I lend out. They do their own mixing with my assistance.... if only to save time ( learning curve).

    Serious "budget minded" audiophiles only may reply.
