Does anyone know of any bluray players that have multiple hdmi outputs?
That way you can run the lossless audio to the receiver and the video directly to the tv.

Hmmmm, don't know if there are any. I can't think of any off the top of my head, all the ones I have seen have only had one. Don't think this has been done yet.

hmmm not sure, check out the Pioneer bdp-09fd and Denon universal player, they are VERY expensive though, in the thousands of dollars. -
Looks like the Pioneer has 2 HDMI outs, and at a mere $1,600, lol. Also, at the everyday low price of $4,500 the Denon DVD-A1UDCI also has two HDMI outs. Looks like it has been done, but is far from affordable, lol.

Thx. I just looked at the pioneer online (as the denon is way to expensive for me) looks like I will have to start putting money into the old piggy bank.TV ................Sony kdl52xbr4

There are some 3D blu ray players coming out with dual HDMI ports which will be likely a lot cheaper then the Pioneer o denon.(3) PS3's, Xbox 360, (2) Wii's and Nintendo NES
(2) Panny DMPBDT110 3D Standalone Players
Panny 60" 3D Plasma TC-60ST30
Panny 50" Plasma TC-P50G10
Panny 50" 3D TV TC-P50GT25
Denon AVR-891
Harmoney One Remote
Polk Monitor 70's,Polk CS2, Polk Monitor 40's -
I would be patient and wait for the 2010 bluray models to come out this summer and fall which many will be 3D and HDMI 1.4 compliant. Many of the features found in the high end Pioneer 09fd and Denon will filter it's way down into these newer models coming out at a lower price plus with added new features not found in the 09fd.

Just curious, why do you need/want to run lossless to the receiver ? The receiver will do the conversion to analog,or you could get a player with analog outputs, alot cheaper too, and let the player decode the lossless then send it on.

Yes, more information on what you're trying to do might help us come up with a better answer.
I haven't used these, but it appears that a splitter is only 30 bucks or so. Might want to investigate these if you really just want to split your output. That way you can just get a good player at a good price instead of shopping based on dual output.

If your AVR doesn't support the new lossless audio formats, then you would need to connect the bluray 5.1 or 7.1 analog outputs to the AVR 5.1 or 7.1 inputs and the HDMI from the bluray player directly to your TV.
As long as your AVR accepts at least multichannel PCM via HDMI, you don't need it to support decoding of the lossless formats. The player can decode the formats, send it as PCM over HDMI (at least HDMI 1.1), then the AVR would process and send the audio out to the speakers and should be able to send the video on to the TV via HDMI too. TrueHD and DTS-HD MA have to be converted to PCM at some point for the AVR to process it. The player just converts it earlier in the chain if set to decode the lossless formats instead of the AVR.
Analog outputs are useful primarily for backwards compatibility for AVRs without HDMI connections and for those who spent money for specific digital to analog conversion (DAC) chips in their players that they want to use instead of those in the AVR. -
Just noticed you have a ps3. Have you tried ps3->AVR->HDTV via HDMI with the ps3 doing the decoding and sending it out as multichannel PCM? Many people have stellar results listening to lossless this way. What about your setup requires the dual output?

+1, my PS3 does an amazing job as my Blu Ray palyer, and I am sending it to my AVR lossless via HDMI and LPCM.

This is usually all you need to get great lossless audio and a great picture out of the ps3. Unless the AVR lacks a video 'passthrough' mode and messes up the video signal before sending it on to the HDTV.
-
I just want to negate the video running throught the receiver. I feel it "changes" the image differently than just going to my tv. Sorry if my question wasn't phrased well. I don't have an issue with the quality of the sound. As per the actuall decoding, my ps3 does the decoding of the lossless audio for me as it can't send the signal for my reciever to decode like the new ps3s.TV ................Sony kdl52xbr4

Sounds like the cheapest and easiest thing would be to look into the hdmi splitters then. Especially if you already like the signal coming from the ps3. Again, I haven't used them, but at only 30 bucks or so, seems like something you could try with very little risk instead of putting out big bucks for dual outputs on a new player. Please post how well the splitter works if you try one.

+1, the splitter should work well for you. Be sure to post your thoughts if you decide to go this route.

Found a couple of splitters on line. have beenchecking the reviews on them. Reviews seem to say to make sure its powered vs not as the picture quality degrades especially with 1080p signalsTV ................Sony kdl52xbr4
