Sometimes the system does work well.....Just snagged a pair of Fxi A6 off Ebay. I was concerned about purchasing from a seller who only had only sold two items over the last couple of years. Although those two buyers had good feedback, I felt this was a risky situation, but went for it anyway. I won the bidding and the speakers arrive in three days and are immaculate, probably never been used. The mounting brackets were'nt even scratched from hanging on a wall. I don't recommend taking this kind of risk for bigger dollar amounts, but just wanted to let you all know there's still hope for honest people in our society. OK, enough of this serious stuff.......

Bought a used oscilloscope off of Ebay from a seller with 11,500+ feedback at 98%. Seemed like an easy sale. Listed as used but in good, fully functioning condition. Seller shipped it with almost no padding. It arrived broken, holes in the packaging too. There was plastic pieces on my front porch since they fell out of the large holes in the packaging. Also, 3 of the buttons on the front didn't work. This didn't seem like shipping damage.

Seller reluctantly took the item back but it cost $50 to ship. Feedback system failed IMO.

Other than that I have been ripped off once a long time ago. But I was new to Ebay and bought something from someone with low feedback.

Other than that Ebay's cost structure does the rest of the ripping off.
