Up for grabs is a TECHNICS SL-Qx300 QUARTZ DIRECT DRIVE TURNTABLE in near mint condition with original box and manual. I dont have any pics of the actual TT for sale at this time but I will get some up next week, this TT looks better than the one in the pics. In the meantime here are a few I borrowed from an Ebay sale. This would make a good starter TT for someone or for a spare in case your primary one goes in the shop. $50.00 + shipping. money order preferred

Well, I just pulled off the impossible by doing a double-blind comparison all by myself, purely by virtue of the fact that I completely and stupidly forgot what I did last. I guess that getting old does have its advantages after all

You need a seperate phono pre amp for this table or could I use a tape input on my receiver? Been 30 years since I had a table, you know that memory thing and age don't mix well.HT SYSTEM-

You'd need a phono pre, bro. Nice entry level table. Good luck with the sale, Snowman.

waiting for snow to get back to me....maybe someone online now could help. took the 3 transport screws out and put the platter on. platter turns but the tonearm won't move over to the record. the tonearm clamp is not on and I don't see the transport protector for the tonearm on there.
when I try the autostart the arm lifts up, moves slightly and just sits there.any ideas???

Hi Tony I am not familar with that TT so I will be of little help but I will try to find out what the problem may be, you might also post a question in the Electronics area regarding this. If we cant get this problem solved I will send you your $$ back and you keep the TT

the platter has a rubber pad with two cut outs each with little sensors that determine the size of the disc that is on the platter (45 or 33). if there is no disc on the platter then the autostart function will not operate. if there is a disc and it is still misbehaving i would look at the alignment of the rubber pad on the platter or remove the platter entirely and look at it from the underside. perhaps the platter is not correctly installed. -
this thread holds a wealth of information on the sl-qx300 including how to make some adjustments that might solve your problem...
