After 10 years my little Alec Lansing 4.1 rig was showing some signs of flagging so I decided to replace them. I thought about a Soundbar IHT w/sub, but didn't want to drop $500. I also considered TCAs WAF1s with their little gizmo amp, but my desk couldn't support the real estate. Years ago, I heard a Klipsch Promedia 2.1 rig and was impressed, so without any research, I picked one up from BB for $150.00. Color me impressed. I played some CDs and a game. Not only is it decent, in a small room it's very good. Sitting 2' away, it's excellent. Images well, not overly bright and dead silent when not playing. The sats are 2way with a 3/4" mini horn tweet and a 3" MW. The little 8" sub hits pretty darned hard and seems to dig into the mid 30s without strain. There's a built in limiter to protect the driver from the really deep stuff, but it pressurizes this little 10X12 office really well.
Certainly, it's not to be compared with nice book/sub combo, but for a small office/music/gaming rig that requires a small footprint, it's a winner for me.
