Finally got it!

Early on in my time here at Club Polk, I quickly learned the value and necessity of a tube preamp. My first tube pre ever was a Rogue Audio Metis. It rocked my socks like nothing ever before.
Well, at the time, I was a college student strapped for cash. If not for an absence of cash flow, I would have picked up a Rogue Audio Perseus, which was the first tube pre I ever heard. Incidentally, during that same listening session I was also treated to a pair of Totem Manis.
Nostalgia aside, there was an upgraded Perseus on Audiogon being sold for a reasonable price. I got it . . . and bargained for even less! I'm sure the Perseus will have all the shortcomings normally associated with Rogue gear (especially the clunky remote volume control), but it will also have punchy dynamics and engaging speed.
I love the way this preamp looks. Four naked tubes jutting out of a narrow chassis with a simple faceplate.
This may not be the best preamp I have or will eve own, but it is one of those pieces that for some reason I just had to own for a while. I am pumped to finally get the chance.

Awesome. I got to listen to Marvda1's tube preamp a few years ago and was blown away. Now, I have an itch I can't scratch until a bunch of other stuff gets taken care of first before I can build the 2 channel system I want.
Congrats and enjoy! -
Nice. I saw/listened to a Rogue integrated amp at an AK meet one time. I was very impressed by it.For rig details, see my profile. Nothing here anymore...
