receiver for my TSI setup
hello to all polkies, I come here today with a question. I bought 2X TSI500, Cs20, and a pair of tsi200 for surrounds. I was thinking of buying the yamaha rx-v1900 or mabey rx-v3900. However, the rx-v3900 is only 140w per channel and the rx-v1900 is 130, so i might just save the extra $ and save for my 55" LED. Ok, my real question is, will 130w or 140w per channel be enough to push the bass in my speakers, specially the cs20 and tsi500 scince they hace 6.5" drivers? Im new to all of this so I need the help! PLZ EXPLAIN!!!!

Either Yamaha has enough to power TSIs well enough....unless your listening room is overwhelming.....save you money and go 1900..
I run a set of Ms (the TSIs ancestors) with an Onkyo TX-SR 805 which is a 130w/channel AVR and it can get plenty loud in a room of 11.5 x 25 x 8.75...not a huge room but adequate.
TSIs and Ms are 'very' efficient...and if you feel you need more power don't waste your time getting a 'better' AVR just use the pre-outs on the Yamaha 1900 and buy a good used power amp for them of at least 200 watts/channel..
Good luck!

what kindf external amp? like a car amp or some other special kind of amp ? Explain please, sorry lol im new to all of this. -
He's talking about a dedicated Home Theatre amplifier like the ones from Emotiva, Adcom, Rotel, Sunfire or others.
You would connect your receiver's pre-outs directly to the inputs on the amplifier. Any amplifier rated at at least 150 watts per channel, will greatly improve your sound and bass response. It's going to give you a lot more true power because of the way they compute the wattage on receivers.
