A very interesting film. I think I liked it.

Please feel free to totally ignore this thread and start your own.

I capitalized the whole title....but you see what happened. I guess I'm not worthy of all caps.

I haven't seen it, but was wondering if it would be ok to start my own thread about it?

When this flick came out, I started to do something I rarely do and go to a movie theater. I'm glad I waited for On Demand.
Wasn't the greatest given the names attached but I enjoyed it.
You can't go too wrong with anything with Decaprio ( I've never seen Titanic ) and Ben Kingsley has been one of my favorites since Sexy Beast.

I guess I was one of the dumbies who didn't see the ending coming at all. At first I was like come on, it better not try this. But it was very neat going through the film again to see all the clues (I actually enjoyed it more the second time)

...and that was what they were shooting for. My wife felt the same way.

Unfortunately, I was on to the twist within 20 minutes and all the suspense, turns and twists all felt like the air had been let out of them as it inevitably led to a foregone conclusion. It felt heavy and slow for me and I didn't enjoy it. I recognize that alot of thought and effort went into this one to make the 2nd and 3rd viewing enjoyable when watching the other actors responses in each scene, but I caught most of it the first time through. It's a bummer being such a genius :p:D. However, I'm not the only one this happened to when viewing other threads on other forums. In fact it was quite common...so I guess I'm not so special .

Excellent film. I would never have imagined DiCaprio turning into such an excellent actor doing a series of very well chosen films. Kingsley, as always, is marvelous to watch. Very well done by Scorsese.

The trailer did not inspire me to see this movie so I avoided it at the theatre. Highly recommended.

My Home Theater mag. review gave it a 5 stars and praised it as Scorcese's best also. The review said all actors combined to make it a realistic believable movie.

The way Scorsese shoots the film throughout is consistent with how it ends. We see a lot of information on screen but are limited for obvious reasons once you finish the flick.

anything he's done that has Daniel Day Louis and/or Leo in it is pretty much guaranteed to be at least good.

I picked up on it pretty early, but I didn't guess the extent of the twist. I figured it was just war induced trauma. I like the movie a lot, but its definately not Scorcese's best.
I thought Gangs of New York was fantastic, The Departed too. Danial Day Lewis is a great actor and Dicaprio has become one of Hollywood's best.
