....Any Carver fans out there. Love the power and the looks....want to drive my Maggies. ....MG-I's. Do i need the fans or can I disconnect them. Tested the amp with cheaper speakers and can't get the meters to even rise , unless the house shakes. Never gets warm. Any experience with disconnecting fans????

...Any thoughts on the quality of sound. the Carver PM-1200??? From my experience so far is....made a cheap pair of "Precise monitor 5's " come to life.

Want to know before I tear my system apart.

Always in search of the "HOLIE Graille" !!!

It's a powerhouse of an amp for sure, and as a pro amp, it's dang near bulletproof. I wouldn't reccomend removing the fans as they are needed to keep the amp cool. The PM-1200 builds up a lot of heat when driven hard. There are quieter aftermarket fans available, but at average volumns, you won't hear the stock fans at all.

Try it I think you will love the amp. Fans are important though. I agree with skipf about trying it and that you will probably not here the fans.
