Norah Jones doesn't love me any more...

Thats right. She was singing to me last night the same as she did at my old house but she was somewhat distant. The last time we got together I could feel her hot breath in my face with every word and feel the vibration of her voice on my hair and shirt. I got goosebumps because she was inches from my face. Here in the new house she stayed at least 5 feet away, as if performing for everyone in the room. She sounded as good as ever but the intimacy was gone. I did the underarm check and all was good there. I need to bring her back, thats all I can say.

    Have you had that "talk" with your doctor yet? You know the one that will bring the intimacy back into your life.

    At least she CAN sing to you..she can't really sing to me since I live in an apartment and the girl I share a wall with complains of my music, even at only moderate volume...thank God for Sennheiser.

    What else did you change besides the acoustics?

    It sounds like it is time to re-balance your system because of a new listening space and different power feed. You have some amazing gear so you may consider room and AC filter tweaks, then cabling. Good luck.

    Lots of good comments. I think the room could be made much better. Its very large and ever so slightly live where as my old room was small and overdamped.

    Sounds like you need a good dose of horniness! Large reverberant rooms just love big ol' horns. You'll have Norah on your lap, nibbling your ears in no time, my frin'.:cool:

    If you like a more bluesy Norah Jones, check out New York City. There's also a SACD version that's very hard to find.

    Danny, I already have it on SACD. What I meant to convey was the difficulty in finding a SACD copy to purchase these days.

    Based on your recommendations, I got the ones below. Thank you!

    1 "Songbird (W/4 Live Tracks)"
    Eva Cassidy;

    1 "Come Away with Me"
    Norah Jones;

    1 "The Girl in the Other Room"
    Diana Krall;

    Considering that I have no speakers in my 2-channel setup (Maggies are gone), hopefully these will arrive together with my HT amp early this week, so I can listen to them on B&Ws. :cool:

    You guys should look into Patricia Barber 'Modern Cool'. Wonderful sultry female vocalist.
    There is also some great tracks from Cassandra Wilson too!

    Ah... Temptation (track#3) on The Girl in the Other Room is to die for. :D

    Other DK recommendations...

    1. All for You: A Dedication to the Nat King Cole Trio
    May be a bit difficult to get into although "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" is very good.

    2. When I Look in Your Eyes
    Playful. One of my favorite DK albums.

    3. The Look of Love
    My favorite DK album. There's a jazz group, orchestra, and symphony behind her. May be a bit too "romantic" for some folks.

    4. Christmas Songs
    "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas", "What Are You Doing New Year's Eve?", and "Count Your Blessings Instead of Sheep" are worth the price of admission here.

    5. Diana Krall Live in Paris DVD in DTS
    A fantastic concert dvd. Also includes a couple of music videos.

    She also does a decent "You Don't Know Me" duet with Ray Charles on his Genius Loves Company hybrid SACD.

    Another great recommendation is Getz/Gilberto. Astrud Gilberto's smoky voice on "The Girl from Ipanema" is still captivating after almost 50 years, and it's a good recording too.
