Muse - Hullabaloo

Can anyone speak about the actual quality of this disc? I don't necessarily mean content (i think we can all agree that Muse is the **** :p), but how's the recording/mastering on it?

I'm thinking about making the effort to completely finish my collection of all things Muse, but the media player on their site, played through my work computer out to a set of Sony cans doesn't reflect real well on the recording quality.

    Check it out! A bit off the beaten path for this band, really nice to see what they can accomplish.

    They end up sounding like a bit more polished Radiohead. I'm REALLY digging it. :D

    I like all their stuff, although I probably listen to this one less than most of their other albums.

    Just ignore the other comment, no need to get drawn into that discussion.

    Not all of hullabaloo is live. There's 10 studio tracks, and 11 live tracks.

    The band is great live, it's just up to you if you can deal with the reverb and fan noise. On Hullabaloo and HAARP, i think it's really about as good as it gets in terms of a live recording.

    Make sure you post about it afterwards. I saw them a few years back and it was one of the loudest shows i've ever been to. GREAT performers, though. :D

    Yeah, it's not real typical of them, feels more like Radiohead, but still better. :)

    Hrmmm... today is the first day that i've listened to "Showbiz" from start to finish. Never could really get into it before.

    Yeah, I always recommend that someone start with their newer stuff and work their way backwards. Their newer stuff is a little more mainstream and easier for most people to get into the first time around, then as it grows on them start working backwards and it's not such a shock to the system.

    The first album of theirs I ever heard was Absolution, and I was instantly hooked.
