Stupid Ebay people

I hate when I specifically state in my Auction that I ship to US and Canada only and 2 of 11 items i had for sale were won by 1 person in Chile and 1 in China.. Aargh, now i just have to hope they accept my cancellation of their win b/c they deny it then I don't get my final value fee back and one of them the final value fee is $20... b/c I know fighting Ebay on that may be a PITA! sorry had to vent!

I had similar problems with an international buyer. Said in my ad they had to cover all fees that would be involved with shipping. Well after I shipped the place send me a letter saying I'm being charged 30.00 bucks more because of something with the package and its being held in customs till I come pay it, as well as they are holding all my packages until it gets paid (why they don't call me idk when I live 5 miles away from them)Tell the buyer this and he says he couldn't read the ad that well so he won't pay it. grrrr. sometimes I just hate ebay.

yeah well I didn't catch it before they won so its kinda hard to block it. I just wish people would freaking read. at least they can't pay for it b/c since its out of my shipping area they have to get an invoice to be able to pay b/c they don't know what shipping is.

yep good luck. Depending on where you're shipping too it can suck because I guess certain countries have limits on how large the package can be. Thats how I got stuck with mine is that I did the quote, put in the dimensions, but then once it got there, then they nicely decided it was too big, so they tacked on a larger fee. so dumb.

You can set your ad up so that they can't bid...it won't let them...that is what I mean by block them. Hope that makes sense.

I think you can adjust the setting in the shipping details where you are allowed to block bidders from a certain country.

I stopped selling on Ebay for that reason.. people think they can get away with anything regardless that you say you only ship to the US. stupid people.

So now I only deal with Craigslist people :eek: :rolleyes:

I thought I had.. but what it does is it doesn't allow them to bid from their local Ebay site.. ie Ebay.uk or ebay.china (or whatever china's link is) but they can still usually bid on Ebay.com regardless of where they live.. but its almost alls well that ends well. the big item was mutually canceled so i'll be refunded the fee and I offered it as 2nd chance to the highest US bidder for only a few bucks less, so hopefully he'.ll take it..

I sold a PHONIC PAA6 RTA on e-bay. Said 48 state only. Got Turkey and CYPRUS knocking on my door. I quoted both for shipping. Make the story short , the dude from CYPRUS is a radio engineer for state run station. He paid 950.00 for RTA +180.00 to ship. And customs hit him for another 170.00 and was still happy as hell!!! Nice dude. But you are right. People don't honor where your limiting your shipment.

Take your time when you list the item and block bidders from countries that you don't ship to! Its simple. Also block bidders with no feedback, bidders with recent non-paying status, bidders with no PayPal acct, etc. Also make sure you set up the shipping features for US and/or Canada only. If you use these features, you should never have any problems.

Thanks I will be definitley a little more careful next time.. I've got quite a bit more stuff i want to sell, I've never had this issue before most times people honor it or at least have msged me first asking if I would ship so I thought just limiting it to the ebay.com site would be good enough..i have over 200 feeback so its not like I'm a newbie, but I haven't had that issue before either, so now I know that you can be even more selective and I will make sure that i am..
