Last I heard, the lakes were almost completely frozen over, which stops any "lake effect" from occuring. It has been a little warmer lately, tho, so maybe there's some patches of open water out there.

They're calling for 4-8 here in central PA, but there could be rain mixed in (joy).

Our last 12" is finally almost melted...
    Ludicrous gibs!

That was us the last 2 years out here, this year we have had about a foot all year, and temps have been above freezing during the day for like 2 months straight now.

Thank you Suffolk County, NY for not putting any salt or sand down on any of the major roads and causing at least 20 accidents last night.

We got 4 inches and it's wind-blown at that. Not even enough to build and effective snowman. There isn't enough to plow, they are just spreading salt. Roads were fairly clear by 8:30 AM this morning.

Oh and it's 35 degrees right now so it's starting to melt off pretty good.

Glad they closed the schools today and all those businesses closed!

We got lots of snow, but not much accumulating-With the high winds I think most of it is probably blown into snow drifts.

I can't tell right now with the way its been snowig and blowing what the actual snowfall amount is. So far it doesn't appear that I even have to shovel my sidewalk.

It started snowing late Wed night and its still snowing now, but it's expected to stop soon. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that I don't lose power.

I'll try to get a few pics of the pretty snow up.

I live rt off lake ontario and this lake has never frozen over, well not in my lifetime, and it usually freezes about 100 ft off shore leaving a significant mass of water to pound us yearly, a slow year is 100", I'll post pics later of what we got last night sweet!

Over here in the hills above the Hudson Valley, during Wednesday's storm we got 20" of some of the wettest snow I've ever seen. Needed to use the tractor's loader to clear my 800' long steep driveway. The 12 hp, 36" snow blower would only squirt the snow 5ft at full power. It literally squirted the snow. When using the loader, the snow pack would break and it looked blue, sometimes sea green, on the inside.

During yesterday's storm, we started out with snow and then switched to rain. Yeaaaa!!!! A friend just 4 miles west of me got another 18" of heavy wet snow, giving him a three day total of over 40" of heavy wet snow. There are reports that some roofs on houses are collapsing - the flat ones and the sloped ones alike.

    ^^ Yep,
after the snow finally stopped I looked outside and thought I might get away with out snow blowing or shoveling, but once I walked on it I quickly realized how wet this stuff was. I didn't want it turning to ice so....about an hour later I'm all cleared. Heavy stuff for such a small amount to clear. All area roads are clear--I think my area escaped major issues--I heard the Pocono's got about 2' though.

I just got done plowing. spent the last 3 days in a truck, got pulled over for reckless opp -whats a couple of red lights at 3:00am in a blizzard? I explained to the nice officer that I'm going postal and perhaps you are one of my customers, the longer you delay me the longer its going to take me to plow your driveway. I don't know if he called my **** or just took pity on me, but he just shook his head, got back in his car and left. lucky me :)
