You did good! And you'll enjoy that. The Polk sub will be more 'musical' than that sloppy Klipsch LFE box. The only thing those Klipsch subs can do is HT...play music on them and they lose all control. They're not a bad sub for the money.

But for 250 the PSW505 is a nice one!

Had it on sale last week for $229 shipped. It's a steal at either price.

uhh...Not to nitpick, but I don't think the PSW505 exactly qualifies as vintage...being as it's still in plentiful availability brand new from numerous retailers.;)

That being said...the 505 is a fine sub, and for the money is hard to beat IMO.

BUT, can i connect this sub to the rear surrounds speaker level input??? not the BACK, the rear. My receiver is a 7 channel receiver but I am using it in 5.1. I figured I could change the receiver setting on the rear to large.....can anyone tell if this will work???

I am trying to do this without running additional wires...

If you are running 5.1, then you can connect the subs to the surround speakers via the speaker inputs, but you need to set the surround speakers to large. I have an external amp so I have all the power I need to make the large setting work.

With a typical AVR, the recommendation is to set the surrounds to small.
So before you do that though, consider riunning two PSW505's stacked off the LFE and leave your surrounds set to small.

Thanks, that is what I planned to do, set the rear to large, and have the speaker outputs on the PSW505 power the surrounds...there is a crossover in the PSW505 for the output to my surrounds...so will I still get full power to my surrounds even though they are being crossed over in the PSW505???? Will there be any difference in sound quality to my surrounds using this method???
