Moisture effect on Momo MMC6500

Got myself a set of MMC6500 components to be installed in the doors.
Here's what i found in the manual "Do not install these speakers in the door. They will be ruined my moisture and it is not covered by warranty"
I don't hae any warranty on this as i got it from a private party but def would not want them to get ruined.

Does anyone know if these momos are actually that fragile to moisture or is it just Polk's way of being way overprotective??

Oh, and while i'm at it - i'm thinking of installing x-overs in the trunk and running wires from x-overs to woofer/tweet. Obviously wires that came in a box are too short so i'll have to run new ones, about 5-6 times longer then original. Would that cause any issues with sound quality??

I would think any moisture damage to any speaker is not covered under warranty. Isn't this a marine certified speaker?

It is marine certified, but why would they even type in the manual in huge bold letters??? LOL
All logic tells me those speakers are made to be installed in the door and then manual says otherwise.
I think (hope) that Polk is just being overprotective.
