does anybody have any idea of whether or not you can turn a surround receiver to a strictly 2 channel. also like to bridge the b channels to the a channels all internally. my thinkng is if i relieve the transformer of the power draw of the surround processor i might get more head for the 2 channel. just bored and trying to find somethin to break lol

yes thanks i knew that lol. im trying to relieve the transformer of unused laod. i wont use the surround processor after this mod if its possible and would like to eliminate it from the circuit. i believ ive read the technics stuff was notorius for powering up all circuts at all times. thats why they get so hot.

I wouldn't consider this to be a good idea. But give it a try if you've got a spare receiver lying around that you don't mind ruining. :p

For that matter, i'm not sure this is even possible. It's a bit more than just tying in the transformer. It'll include deleting an entire set of circuits within the board, and adding a new set.
I don't read the newsssspaperssss because dey aaaallllllllll...... have ugly print.

IMO it is best not to try to use a HT AVR amp in any other way than what it was intended on being used.

If you want more power I would suggest looking for a seperate amp and use the AVR as a preamp.

Hahah, no... not that simple. :D

Send me a spare receiver! I'd like to move my Elite out of the bedroom for HT duty.
