Does anyone know at what frequency it begins to filter?

Thanks!

I would guess since it's subsonic probably anything below 20Hz. It's designed to eliminate the low frequency rumble a TT could cause. If your not running a TT, then you won;t need to use it. If you are running a TT just leave it engaged, you're not cutting out any type of frequency that you want to hear..........or feel.

EDIT: TT rumble can't be heard, but it can damage woofers. Many times you can see the woofs vibrating violently...........that's subsonic. Where exactly it's produced in the TT I don;t recall, but that's the only component that can produce something like that and it's exactly what a subsonic filter was designed to eliminate.

The Service Manual for the C-2 says:
    Filter:
    Subsonic.................18Hz, 12 DB/Octave

dunno if that's relevant, or if they're the same layout either.

I had a guy in a high end stereo shop demo that to me. With just a very high end table spinning and no record on, with the volume at about 1/2 the woofers appeared to be pounding but no sound could be heard. Then he turned on the subsonic flilter and they were perfectly still. My Pro-ject emits very little subsonic so the same test at home had not nearly as dramatic results.

    Thanks for the info.

Was thinking about using it up stream on a passive sub.
