SDA magnetic shielding

Hey guys. I finally have some $$$$$$$$$ to play with when the taxes come back. I will be in the market for some SDA's. My question is in regards to magnetic shielding. I plan on incorporating the HT and the 2 channel. The SDA’s would be on either side of my TV. All my previous speakers have been shielded so this was never an issue that I worried about. Will this cause any harm to the TV ??? Aside from the obvious distortion of the TV picture is there any other “hidden” problems that may arise that aren’t visually obvious ??? If there is a problem is there anyway to "shield" them because I would really like to have them placed on either side of the TV

I have a Samsung 67” LED DLP if that matters.

Thanks guys.

Cheers.

Tony

Shouldn't be an issue with a DLP. The magnetic shielding is needed for CRT sets.

The magnetic shielding is needed for CRT sets.

Correct on that one. You should have no issue.

Thanks for the quick replies. My other question was do you guys know if there is any "hidden" harm that may go unnoticed or is the visual distortion the only negative effect.

There should not be visual distortion with a DLP or LCD. It is only an issue with CRT sets.
