Just wanted to give a quick shout out to Al (dangeyboy) Mark (dorokusai) and Polk Audio for the amazingly generous gift of the TSi 500's that I had brought to the Seattle are mini meet. They did a drawing and my name was pulled out of the mayo jar (ewww) never in my wildest dreams did I think I would be leaving that meet with a $700 pair of speakers!! I plan to write a more formal letter to Mark and Polk Audio, just wanted to give everybody a heads up that wasn't following the Seattle mini meet thread. This community has become a second family to me and it was nice to finally be able to put some faces to the names. Thanks again from me and my wife, and I can't wait to put those 500's to good use.

Good News...one can ALWAYS use another pair of Polk towers....now you can REALLY break them in and tell us what you think. I finally heard a pair in Beijing and they're a good HT speaker! I stand by my opinion stated in many threads here on these Speakers.

Aren't those regional Polk get togethers fun? Did Lightman actually show up???

    Enjoy!

Very true C, you can never have enough towers, lol. I am thinking of using them in a starter 2 ch rig. In my limited time with them initially, I was pretty impressed overall, but prefered the sound of my 70's, probably because I was used to it. That get together was a blast, and yes Russ actually showed up, he is a hoot, lol. Check the link in the first post for comments and pictures.

Jeff, just for **** and giggles.. hook the 500's up to your home theater in place of your mon 70's and see how they sound.. you might be surprised. Just run the speaker set up in your Onkyo once hooked up. I'm always swapping this or that pair of speakers.

Here is some more pics of the Lucky winners...well actually I heard they are Rosie's....Jeff just gets to use em...LOL

And I agree with AL (Dangerboy) I would give those TSi's a shot up in the Front row. To my ears anyway I thought they dug a little bit deeper and were a touch smoother..
    Either way...enjoy :D

Amen Jessee, very well said!! I have actually already had them up front Al, in the week before I came to the meet, back when they were still Polk's and not mine errr I mean Rosie's, lol. They did pretty well, and I am now giving them a shot at surround duty. To be prefectly honest, and this is probably just me being overly critical, I didn't care for the way the matched up with, or should I say didn't match up with my CS2, it just didn't sound right. Awesome pics. man, no surprise who those speakers belong to huh? Thanks again Polk!! Check out those Boa Constrictor sized cables in the background, lol those things were sweet. That shot of the 70's and the 500's side by side is a sweet pic. wish the 500's had been naked though.

I've run TSI-300s next to my M70s and have noticed some 'minor' differences between their tweeter performance--crossovers, etc. I imagine this might be more noticeable using CS2s with TSI-500s since there they have to work in consort!

Jesse is the 'man'!! Polk does rule!

It's not horrible, just IMHO it didn't sound right. Which was surprising to me considering all the good press that was going around about mix matching the Monitor's and TSi's, that and my untrained ear doesn't help either, lol.
