Thinking about smaller or better looking speakers...

Hello! I am thinking about possibly changing my front speakers in my small living room.
Can I get equal or better sound with smaller speakers in the front? Or if not a lot smaller, at least better looking (IMO) like the Polk Audio VM series?
My front speakers (including center) are from the 90's but still in excellent condition. I'm not sure what class my speakers are in when compared against current models. This system is 90% movies/tv and 10% music. I do like that 10% of music to sound good when it plays, though.
Here is my current setup:
Front L/R: JBL HP-88F (each features drivers consisting of two 8", one 5" and one 1" titanium dome)
PDF Link to JBL HP-88F specifications
Center: Definitive Technology C/L/R 2000
Surround: Polk Audio OWM3 (recent purchase)
Subwoofer: Polk Audio PSW111 (recent purchase)
Receiver: Pioneer VSX-819H-K (recent purchase)
I got the Pioneer receiver after switching all of my video to HDMI. My previous receiver was a Sony STR-DE675. Bass from the JBL speakers seemed a bit weaker than I remembered (maybe due to the new receiver? I also completely rearranged the furniture).
I soon added a Polk Audio PSW111 subwoofer which now handles all bass at 100Hz and lower and I am very happy with it.
If the OWM5 speakers are worthy replacements (considering that I now have a subwoofer), then I would be happy to switch to those. They are inexpensive, small and look great.
If there is just no replacement for larger speakers, then the VM20 or VM30 speakers look interesting to me, depending on whatever deals are out there.
If these options do not sound as good as my current setup, then I'm OK with sticking with what I have. Just wondering if I could make the living room look better without reducing sound quality... Improving sound quality would be a very sweet bonus.
What do you all think? Thanks in advance for any responses.
