So, I've been on a store-brand soda kick lately, and just wanted to let you guys know how good this stuff is...
Found with the "Giant" logo on it, the line of products is called "Main Street". I guess they're trying to go with the old-fashioned soda fountain thing. Anyway, so far I've tried the Root Beer and the Cream and they're excellent.
Another good one that's a Giant brand, is Vanilla Rally. Very good mixed with Vodka
Anyone else have any surprising store brand experiences?

I have found that just about any store-brand soda tastes good when cut with the right booze. The Gear... i prefer the store brands or the cheaper pop's out there. i can't justify paying the extra $$ for the "name" brands of pop.PolkFest 2012, who's going>?

No store brand really, but pepsi > coca cola when mixing, especially with spiced rum.
That's crazy talk. Coke is WAY better than Pepsi for mixing. If you will it, dude, it is no dream. -

Depends on what your mixing up. I prefer Pepsi sometimes over Coke if I'm mixing it with Cognac. Like I said though it all depends, but both do well.Shoot the jumper.....................BALLIN.............!!!!!

I mostly only use cola to mix with rums (normal, spiced, coconut) and find Coke fits perfectly, while Pepsi just tastes .... funny. I'm not a fan of Jack and Coke or any other cola mixes so I can't really comment on them
I don't have anything against Pepsi in general, just not as a rum mixer. If you will it, dude, it is no dream. -
Agreed. Pepsi tends to be too sweet for mixed drinks.I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore

Jack and Coke has always been my staple drink. Pepsi is not a good mixer, IMO, but I'm biased because I don't like Pepsi on it's own either.

I tend to have the same feeling on mixing with coke. I usually mix pepsi with cptn morgan and i find it a much better fit. If I do mix with coke, I go w/ store brand b/c I can't tell a difference when theres alcohol involved.
DP + bourbon =
Also any cream soda w/ amaretto is good if you like cream soda. The taste changes very little. It is kind of like drinking candy though.
I think you live in backwards land! Sittin' there all backwardsy with your Rum and Pepsi!
BAH! Rum and Pepsi!
It even sounds lame!
