I know that he had a temper that sometimes created a lot of trouble. I'm not really griping that he's been banned, just saying that I'll still miss him.

Well, I really don't know all the details of what happened (not only today, but probably earlier too). I do think Joe was "one of the good guys".

Having said that, I totally support Mark's decision. I think we should be thankful for having him and the other moderators that make this place so special.

I am sure he will be back as he has been a huge help to not only myself but others as well. Everybody needs to realize the mods have a job to do as well.

+ I can always call him if need be :)

    There's really nothing to say.

It's between Joe and the powers that be. Nothing I or anyone else says will make one iota of difference.

I believe his ban is permanent.

I agree...it sucks. Joe was one of the good guys...but the mods do have a job to do.

Now let's keep this thread civil. The mods don't need anymore work to do.

Amen to that. Everyone always wants to pile on when they do something to a friend or someone we know no matter what the reason they got reprimanded or banned. I have been in a lot of heated discussions and have given and received my fair share of inappropriate remarks. At the end of the day, I have always apologized when I was out of line and received a couple apologies from other members. When you start attacking people and basically begging them to take action, don't be upset at the result. The mods here put up with more **** on a daily basis and help a lot to give the membership good advice. Some think their comments are funny; others don't. We all need to remember that it is a privilege to be a member here and one that can be taken away if you don't follow the rules. We have quite a few people here (myself included) that sometimes toe the line of what is acceptable vs. not acceptable behavior. Most take a hint that it's time to settle down and let things go before they spiral out of control.

I doubt anyone is afraid and if they are it's pretty ridiculous. What is there to say, really? Joe has nobody to blame but himself for what happened and anyone looking at his going out in a blaze of glory responses at the end there in an objective manner could see as much.

There is no free speech here and they have let us gripe about stuff openly, even over stuff I still don't understand, but if it gets to be too much the solution to what ails you is to stop logging in.

Like I have explained numerous times here on CP, why do veterans time and time again allow themselves to be baited into situations? Read the damn rules; if someone posts something against the rules---REPORT IT---DO NOT RESPOND to the offender. Let Mark deal with it, and let it go.

Better yet, if you feel someone is ignorant, ignore them--are you guys really that thick-headed?

Hey hey hey speak for yourself buddy. I'm quaking in my boots over here. Not quite what i meant, though. What i meant was that this place is full of cliques. Not real sure if i want to take a strong stand either way.

That all said, i see both sides here. Just not sure i agree with the end result. But again, i'm not a mod, nor do i want to be. Been there, done that, never again.

Joe isn't dead or anything. He's not that hard to find and call or email if you want to stay in touch. Hell, you can be his friend on facebook.

Joe is a big boy...he took his shots...risk...reward...all that...he knew the score.

NJ, apparently you aren't going to hold your thoughts since you're basically implying that 'someone' was drinking and that's the cause of the ban........which is amazingly **** thing to even put out there for an 8am banning........

Holding your thoughts (which everyone ultimately should), just FYI, would be not typing a single letter.......

Practicing self restraint and allowing / causing it to escalate the way it did was his own fault. If you find yourself so irate that you need to type something that personally attacks anyone on the forum, take 5 minutes, think about it and reflect on what the consequences could be. At the end of that 5 minutes, if it is worth it to you, type away. If not, let it go and remember THIS IS ONLY AN INTERNET FORUM.
Personally attacking people, their morals and integrity is not cool. Furthermore, ignoring the forum rules, calling out the mods and trying to flex your keyboard muscles lead to nothing but trouble. You reap what you sow and karma can come back and bite you.
