Hi all,
here is my dilema, I need help specifically form people that own a pioneer sc receiver.
I am looking for a Blue Ray player that I can use with my SC-07, in which if I just want to see a movie WITHOUT the receiver being completely on. I want the sound and picture to be pass to the TV.
Let me elaborate,
I have an old panasonic DVD player, when I connect it to my SC-07 using HDMI, and I connect the SC-07 to the TV using HDMI, then I turn on my DVD player, and then the TV. what happens is that the SC-07 power button tuns on and nothing else. but the good thing is that I can see the movie and the sound and picture comes out of the TV just like if the receiver was not there.
However if I wanted to watch the moview using my external speakers all I need to do is turn the receiver on, all the lights come on on the receiver and the sound will come from my HT-setup and video only comes out of my TV.
Last year I bought a sony BDP, it replaced my panasonic DVD player, so it is connected using HDMI from the sony to the SC-07 and hdmi from the SC-07 to the TV. just like the setup above.
The problem is that when I turn on the Sony BDP, and the TV, the power button on the SC-07 turns on just like my setup above.
However after about 30 min, the power button on the receiver, turns off and then I get no sound or picture from my TV.
I conclude that there is not the proper hand-shake continuity as there is with my DVD player.
So I am looking for a different DBP that can behave just like my panasonic does.
I know that the sony DBP-S350 That I currenly have does not work. it only works if the receiver is fully on and the sound comes out of the external speakers.
Have you tried other brands, or can you guys test this out with your current setup and help me identify one that works.
Thanks,
