Does anyone have first hand comparison between Pioneer SC-27/25 vs Marantz SR8002, I am considering buying one of these 2 receivers as an upgrade to my TX-SR674. Speakers are rtia9 and vr2.

I vote for the Pioneer Elite as well...but it would be useful if you told us what percentage of music to movie listening/watching you do?
Because Marantz are known to be one of the most musical AVRs for 2 channel? But the Pioneers are GREAT overall!

You really have to go and listen yourself. Both (or all 3) of those are excellent AVRs, but Marantz has a completely different sound from Elite.Panasonic PT-AE4000U projector for movies

Unless you can get the SC-27 for not much more than an SC-25, I would just buy the SC-25. I compared them both and ended up with the SC-25 for a little over $1K shipped a couple weeks ago. Apparently the SC-27 was available for not much more money, but I didn't come across that deal until it was all said and done.
Anyways....what I'm saying is the Pioneer Elites are great, especially for movies. Considering you're 50% HT and 50% Music, the Elite makes the most sense. Get your ears on them first, though.
I'm extremely happy with this receiver. It pairs nice with Oppo BDPs, too.
