yamaha rv-1109 7 sw-5

just bought an rv-1109 five yamaha plastic surrounds, they actually seem pretty hefty, have not hooked anything up yet, also a sw-5 sub, all for 75 bucks. im downloading receiver manual now, just cant find much on the web about the sub, any experience with the rec. or sub, i have dcm tf 400 for mains, kef carinaIIs for rear boston or polk for center, cant remember the nos. right now. one thing i noticed off the bat is no single line input on sub. although there is single out on rec. would it be preferable to buy an adaptor for sub out to rca l/r at shack, or hook up using sub as hub for front mains. that is something i wondered about with my onkyo rec too. my psw10 sub i use now accepts both, i always wondered if the sub crossovers are typically better than a respectable av amp. thanks.
