I found one of these used but like new at a pawn shop for $10 Canadian dollars. They retail for $49.99 USD. Has anyone used it? I'm going to try it today. This one is the original 80's version but the only thing different from the newer ones is the packaging. It uses Baerwald alignment and I've always used Loefgren. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Ok, I realigned my cartridge using this tool and I have to say the big advantage is the precision with which it works. Using the instructions it was relatively easy to get overhang and offset angle very nearly perfect. Even though it's not designed for azimuth alignment I was able to achieve a very good visual setting using the raised ridges on the disc normally used for visual offset adjustment.
When all was done I played David Bowie's Lets Dance (Canadian version mastered by Robert Ludwig) and was very impressed with the results. Like I said before, I was already pretty close in my previous alignment but this tool allows a precision I haven't been able to achieve before. I give it very high marks and considering I paid less than 25% of retail I'm very happy with this purchase and would recommend it to anyone who is serious about proper cartridge alignment, even at full price.SDA-1C (full mods)

I have one from the '80s that I've not used since them. IIRC, it did a great job. My current tonearm comes with its own alignment jig so I haven't need to pull the Geodisc out of retirement.
Did your's come with the mirror on it? -
I used one to set up a TT a few months ago. It worked very well.DKG999

Mine works very well. Wish I'd found one for $10, but I felt it was well worth the $50.

It really does do a good job! Maybe as good as the $250 ones such as the Feickhert-alignment-protractor that have a few more setup features.
