So is the idea that the SDAs will radiate the sweet center spot to the couch?

Also, you don't seem to have enough distance from the walls for the SDA effect to be 'fully' realized.

Lord knows if its not ideal that you should just forget about owning any loudspeaker, let alone an SDA.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

That setup is as "out there" as can be and far, far from ideal for any speaker.

Yep, the couch is backwards, no side distance and as it is now a very small triangle spot.
Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them.

Do you drive backwards too??? :D

I remove the rear speakers and use quality 6.5" component speakers in custom enclosures in the front and run some tight sealed subs in the back. Sometimes I will add small fill in speakers in the rear.

Mainly I try shoot for a front soundstage.

Because of where my system is setup(garage) I do listen with my SDA's behind me sometimes. I sit about 20 feet from them enjoying the breeze from outside and watching the world pass me by as I listen to some great old rock bands.
They still sound good to me, just not as good.

Yes I'm in a rocking chair too.

The idea of a soundstage is frontal with rear surrounds to have a minimal but realistic effect . Too help draw the sounds around you but not detract from the front so much your driving around with your 6x9s sounding rear deck soundsystem !
