sda questions

I ran across a pair of sda speakers on craigslist. He said they were 1a but I'm thinking they are 1c just by looking at pics of the two models. How can you tell if they are 1a or 1c. Also what is a good price for these(1a and 1c). Doesn't really matter since I already have them, just curious. They aren't in real bad shape but one will need the pedistal replaced and both have a small nick on the center edge of the top. I don't think it's anything major. All drivers are working and the cable was included. I also have a cs400i and rt55i speakers and was wondering if these would blend together well. If not what would you recommend. I'm sure I'll have more questions as I start to work on them but thats it for now. TIA

got a pic? If you are talking "pedista",,the 1C's had a studio version with a pedistal,,1 passive, 4 mids,, 2 tweeters on top of each other(vertical)JC approves....he told me so. (F-1 nut)

If it has a pedestal it's likely they are not 1C's. The 1C studio did have a pedestal but it only came in black, we need pics and you may have to pull the drivers out and look at the model numbers. Also some of the earliest 1C (non-studio) used the same cabinet 1B and has a blade/blade interconnect cable.
1A's use (4) MW6501 drivers and the tweeters are side by side
1B's use (4) MW6509 drivers and the tweeters are vertical
1C's use (2) MW6511 & (2) MW6510 and the tweeters are vertical
A pic would help as well as what type of interconnect slot you have (pin/blade or blade/blade)

Ok, Thanks for the responces. When I say pedistal(lack of a better word) I mean that they are about 2" up off the floor. It has a frame that looks like it is screwed to the bottom. Both tweeters are lined up verticlly and it has the blade/blade interconect. I will try to take some pics with my phone(only camera I have) latter. Thanks for your help.

What color? Sounds like you have 1B's based on the cabinet and blade/blade"Appreciation of audio is a completely subjective human experience. They are brown. Maybe oak, don't think its dark enough for walnut although they are not real light either. I'll pull a driver and see what I have.

Ok, I just pulled 3 drivers and it says MW6509 Oct 1986. So I'm guessing that with the MW6509 drivers and the vertical tweeters that these are 1b. Is there anything else I should look for? Will these work well with my cs400i and rt55i? Thanks again for your help.
