I just opened up my new Lsi9's. They are very impressive looking! (never seen them up close and personal before). I don't believe I have ever seen a bookshelf that was built like this. Like a tank! Wow! I'll post something about the sound once I try them out.

I'll be interested in your thoughts on them Chuck. Retarded amounts of bass for a 'shelf' speaker. My favorite speaker from the LSi line-up.

Not saying a good sub wouldn't compliment them, but I honestly think they stand-alone musically.

    Cheers,
    Russ

Just ignore the moron. Maybe if he stops getting attention, he will go elsewhere. Like he wants to see MM's new speakers. He's just throwing out bait.

Go into your 'profile' and put him on your 'ignore list'. Easy, painless, done.

    Cheers,
    Russ

Congrats, bud! one hell of a curvy set of speakers, if you asked me! what setup are you going to position them? I have mine for 2 channels (mainly) setup, with Sanus stand they look great..
I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

Dude, I gotta ask, this is the 2nd time you've gone 'font crazy' in your sig.

Fairly un-readable, if you ask me, esp the 'extra' small size.

    Cheers,

I'm going to do a 5.1 setup. I can do that with the Lsi's in less space than my stereo pair of SDA 1C's used to take up!

haven't change my sig for at least 2 weeks, Russ, and the small fonts is the exact same one as yours, at least on my screen.

    Here's what I'm seeing.

Might have a font issue on *this* pc, just curious as to what you are seeing.

    OK,
Now the ignore list thing is working. Cool!

The font doesn't look like that on my screen. Lay off the drugs for awhile and it should clear up!

Well, that clears it up, time for a good-ole F-disk. This is the office pc, which my younger brother ran rampant on for some time, no wonder its wacked-out.

    Heya Max..........

Congrats. Just a few questions. You posted a generic pic of the 9's, but did you get that version without the bezel and the space between the drivers and the tweet? Or did you get the version where the drivers and tweet all touch, and it's bezeled down on the edges from the top to the slated tops of the side panels? I know we had a thread a while back from someone noticing the different build types. Btw, where'd you pick them up from?

I picked them up off of ebay. They have a small space between the drivers. The bevel you talk about, is that in the acrylic or the wood? The wood is beveled but the acrylic is square.

I'm wishing the center channel had the wood sides. I wonder if they would make me a pair? Hey polk!

Russ, it's just in your imagination and screen :-)

Brett, I don't think that many first run LSi9 with bevel still in circulation. Most of the pictures on the web has that bevel, that was the thing I checked first when I've got mine. I believe Phuz and Steve3dai have the bevel version.

The bevel in some of the earlier versions of the 9's was in both the wood, and the acrylic. Basically, take your flat top , and add a quarter inch raise that sloped the top of the speaker down to the wood sides. While not a completely flat angle between the two panels, it added a different look to the speaker.

The only concern that I would have had with that older style is that the bottom (is the beveled edge on the bottom as well?)would be a little bit less stable with the narrowed bottom. Not that we're talking about a big difference between the two, but last thing that I'd want on a speaker that relied on a stand was to have it getting more narrow at the bottom.........

I noticed on my center channel the sides are all smooth but in the pics they show a seam around the left and I assume right sides. I wonder if they made any that way?

    Congrats on the purchase, madmax.
Remember to use the plastic feet between your speakers and stands. This made a major improvement in my system.
I'm sure you'll love them. I've really enjoyed the sound since the first day I got them.
What are you powering them with? source?
