Data Recovery....

Hello

Thought I would pass this along if anybody ever runs into a problem getting data off a crashed hard drive.

In this situation the computer wouldn't boot up at all no matter what we tried. I took the hard drive out and hooked it up on another tower. It recognized the drive but still couldn't see any data on it...

I tried SpinRite, man was that a waste of time....

Did some searching online and came across this program:

http://www.runtime.org/data-recovery-software.htm

That program worked like a charm...It scanned the drive just fine and put the files up just like you would see them in Windows Explorer. I was able to copy all the users Quicken data and all the pictures over to a jump drive. The hard drive got pretty hot during all this and was very noisy also.

It was $80 for the program but well worth it to get that data off in one piece...

Thanks a bunch. I've been looking for just that kind of program for a reasonable price. This kind of work costs many many times more if a pro does it.
