Help with setting receiver low pass filters
Hello all,
I have question about the low pass filters in my receiver. As of the audyssey setup it set all of my speakers to large with the associated low pass filters set to 40 hz. The LFE + Main low pass filter setting is at 80hz. Does this seem reasonable for my setup? What do you guys recommend for the low pass filters?
Thank you,
Chip

My Denon 790 did the same. I've messed around so much with various settings that I'm almost burned out playing with it. However, I've settled on the following (for a few days...):
Fronts Large
Center Small 60HZ
Surrounds Small 80HZ
Sub LFE + Main
LFE 120HZ
I seem to get the best integration of bass for music if I leave the fronts as fullband. The sub still kicks in and operates in two channel with this setting. It is pretty seamless on bass runs yet still really punches for home theater.
My recommendation is play around and set it to suit your tastes and system capabilities. You're the only judge whose opinion is important.Home Theater
