Temporarily listening to constipated music

Have to take my Denon 3910 in for servicing while it's still under warranty. It won't read most discs right now. I didn't know how good I had it until I placed my 'backup' CD player (if you can call it that), a $100 Panasonic DVD player into my 2 channel rig. I might as well just take a couple weeks off listening to music. It sounds like the whole system needs to drink a gallon of exlax.

Had to use a old Sony DVD player in my system while a new laser was put in a Shanling CDP I had previously during the christmas season. Had a party at the house and would not even play a CD for my coworkers it sounded so horrible. Spun a little vinyl but the sound from my "back up" player had the same affect on me. I have tried the compressed mp3s also and that is just painful:(

But...all players sound the same...you should take the exlax, clean your ears, then give it another try....the AVS link lemmings will be headed your way to asure you that you are under the delusion that what you are hearing is the placebo effect.

I'm sure after reading some irrefutable links, which are without doubt -fact, that you will come to your senses/ After which, you can put your repaired Denon up for sale and use the proceeds to download some really cool sounding MP3 tracks. :p

H9: If you don't trust what you are hearing, then maybe you need to be less invested in a hobby which all the pleasure comes from listening to music.

Yes, those Burr Brown DACs are all snake oil and the fact that the Denon weighs 20 lbs more than the Panasonic is due to the brick they put inside to make me think it is higher quality. :D I think I'll go back to my dual cassette deck. Haven't heard the beautiful sound of the auto-reverse mechanism in awhile and that audible hiss in the background is probably just tinnitis. ;)

When you said constipated music I thought you meant something like 6 feet under, cannibal corpse or something like that, lol
