I was in the pawn shop this afternoon and saw these for 10 bucks and figured what the hell, so I got them took them home and was amazed that these 32 year old speakers sound as good as they do. They are well built, and sound great, I was definitely not expecting that. One tweeter however is going out, I swapped them and the issue follows the tweeter:(. any suggestions on replacements? figured I would find some on parts express. but definitely not in a hurry. Here are some pics.

Nice find....The only thing about changing out drivers/tweeters with aftermarkets is you no longer have the way that cabinet was supposed to sound. maybe if you look around a bit you can find something on e-bay or CL. good luck. David

Well after much searching with no success I decided to just order some more replacement tweeters. I went with some Jamo's from PE that were the same ohms load and just about the same wattage as the stock. I replaced the bad one first as I had to modify the cabinet then did a comparison. The replacements are more laid back and smooth sounding, the stock are a little harsh and overly loud. So far I am really surprised with these speakers. They sound really amazing. All I have into them so far is 22 bucks and some work, I had some spare grill cloth and decided to replace that gross brown crap that was on them. Now if I can just figure a use for them LOL.

Those are some nice looking speakers! I love looking at vintage speakers on the net, craigslist etc. I picked up a set of Utah's last year for $24 at a thrif shop. They should like crap but man the cabinets are nice looking. Except for that prerequisite water stain on the top of one cabinet.

I still cannot believe these things are 32 years old and in this good of shape, from a company not known for speakers and sound this good. Vintage speakers are it for me mostly.

Those new tweets look right at home. :) Did you have to modify the cabinet at all?
